Care Bears New & Vintage Toys, Gift Ideas and Merch

Care Bears was originally created in 1981 and soon turned into plush teddy bears. The characters also had their own television series from 1985 to 1988, and headlined three feature films: The Care Bears Movie (1985), Care Bears Movie II: A New Generation (1986), and The Care Bears Adventure in Wonderland (1987). Each Care Bear has a special “belly badge” that represents its personality and is a different color. The Care Bear family also included the “Care Bear Cousins”: A lion, rabbit, penguin, raccoon, monkey, elephant, pig, lamb, dog, cat, and horse. The Original Care Bears Vintage Toys

The most popular Care Bears toys were the fifteen poseable Care Bears. There were ten characters in the first series, while the second series added five more. Some Care Bear Cousins consisting of six characters plus three rare UK exclusives were added shortly after. Other poseable toys that were part of the line were Cloud Keeper and Professor Coldheart. Below you will be able to find a collection of (mostly second-hand and available through eBay) Care Bears vintage toys and sets.

Care Bears Vintage Playsets

Kenner and American Greetings produced three Care Bear Playsets: Care-a-Lot, Cloud Mobile and Rainbow Roller. The Care-a-Lot playset was released in 1983 for ages 4+ and included a carry-along heart case, 3 cloud chairs, and a heart table. The Cloud Mobile playset was released in 1983. It had decals on the doors, a heart on the hood and wheels that rolled smoothly. Finally, the Rainbow Roller playset, made in 1984, had a very cool effect: The rainbow wheel spun when the car was pushed, while the wheels made a clicking noise.
