If you love Blade Runner as much as I do, you might be wondering if there’s any good Blade Runner merch you can get.
Blade Runner is a science fiction film created in 1982 and directed by Ridley Scott. The movie, loosely based on Philip K. Dick‘s 1968 novel Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep? stars Harrison Ford, Rutger Hauer, Sean Young, and Edward James Olmos. The film is set in a dystopian future in Los Angeles in 2019. In it, synthetic humans (or replicants) are bio-engineered by the Tyrell Corporation to work in space colonies. When a fugitive group of advanced ones escapes back to Earth, burnt-out cop Rick Deckard (Ford) reluctantly agrees to hunt them down. Explore our collection of Blade Runner gift ideas and merch. Below you will find some of my favorite Blade Runner merch and products inspired by the Blade Runner movies (the original Blade Runner film, made in 1982, and Blade Runner 2049, released in 2019).
The most popular merch tends to be T-Shirts (or Blade Runner apparel) and action figures. There is some incredible officially licensed Blade Runner art, as well as highly detailed models that can also serve as props.
I’ve divided the below sections into two groups: First, merch based on the original movie from 1982 (which can be a little hard to find). After that, you’ll find Blade Runner gift ideas based on the latest movie, “2049”.
Blade Runner (1982) is the original dystopian sci-fi film set in a futuristic Los Angeles, where a detective hunts down rogue human-like androids known as replicants. Among the merch for the movie, you’ll find apparel, statues, and models. Here are some of my choices:
Finding new merch can be tricky, so here are some second-hand options, too:
Blade Runner 2049 is the visually stunning sequel to the original, set in a future where a new Blade Runner unravels a mystery that leads to challenging questions about humanity and identity. If finding original Blade Runner merch is difficult, locating anything from the latest fil is… nearly impossible. So this is a shorter selection:
Winner of the 2020 SCRIBE AWARD for best Graphic Novel, the Blade Runner 2019 comics are a critically acclaimed graphic novel and the official sequel to the cult classic 1982 science fiction film.
The novels were co-written by Michael Green, the Academy Award-nominated screenwriter of Logan, Blade Runner 2049, and Murder on the Orient Express. We have also included other Blade Runner comics as part of our Blade Runner merch and memorabilia collection.
Philip K. Dick’s masterpiece “Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep?” served as the source material for the classic sci-fi film Blade Runner. There are some truly outstanding editions of this book (sci-fi has long proud itself in having some of the best art out there).
So no Blade Runner merch collection would be complete without at least one copy of Philip Dicks legendary novel.
