Portal transformed puzzle gaming with its clever mechanics, dark humour and unforgettable characters. Released by Valve in 2007, the game introduced players to the mysterious Aperture Science laboratories, where Chell, GLaDOS and the famous Companion Cube became instant gaming icons. The popularity of Portal soon expanded beyond the screen, inspiring a range of collectible figures, plush toys, statues and memorabilia. From the Portal Gun to the mischievous personality cores, these items celebrate one of the most inventive video game series ever created. Today, Portal collectibles remain favourites among gamers and retro enthusiasts, capturing the unique style and atmosphere that made the series a modern classic.

Portal Merchandise: Apparel (Jackets)

Portal’s clothing range captured the clean, industrial style of Aperture Science, alongside the humor that made the series so distinctive. Jackets, hoodies, and T-shirts featured everything from vintage Aperture logos to schematics, test chamber symbols, and references to characters such as Chell, GLaDOS, and the co-op robots. Originally sold through the Valve Store, these pieces have become a nostalgic reminder of the excitement surrounding Portal and Portal 2. Let’s start with the three Portal jackets, all released by Musterbrand.

In 2014, Valve partnered with German clothing company Musterbrand to create a collection of three premium jackets inspired by the world of Portal. Rather than producing simple branded merchandise, Musterbrand designed high-quality outerwear that incorporated subtle references to Aperture Science, portal technology an,d the game’s distinctive aesthetic. The range consisted of the Programmer, Engineer, and Scientist jackets, each aimed at a different style and audience. The collection was notable for its white technical fabrics, hidden details and practical designs that felt as though they had come straight from Aperture Laboratories.

Today, the Musterbrand Portal jackets are considered collector’s pieces and are difficult to find outside the second-hand market, where fans still search for them years after their release.

Portal Merchandise: Accessories & Plushes

Portal accessories brought the world of Aperture Science into everyday life. The official Valve Store released everything from mugs, water bottles and mousepads to plush versions of the Companion Cube and Wheatley. Bags, keychains and wallets featuring familiar logos and test chamber designs became popular with fans, turning some of the game’s most memorable symbols into collectible keepsakes. Today, many of these accessories are sought after by Portal collectors and gaming enthusiasts alike.

Here are some of my favorite Portal collectibles and merchandise. Most of these are not new, as Valve hasn’t released that much lately. But all of the listings below are available second-hand and, in many cases, still mint or boxed. My personal highlights are the ThinkGeek collectibles, which were released around 2010 and included pretty unique things like potato science kits, plushies, and apparel.
