All the Saint Seiya Myth Cloth Bandai Figures

All the Saint Seiya Bandai Myth Cloth (聖闘士聖衣神話 Seinto Seiya Kurosu Maisu) Action Figures from Knights of the Zodiac. Originally released in 2003, this line initially featured the five main Bronze Saints but then expanded to cover other characters.

Saint Seiya: Bandai Myth Cloth Scorpio Milo Action Figure

Saint Seiya Myth Cloth is a toy-line from Bandai that was originally intended to only release the 5 Bronze Saints for the 12th anniversary of the series and the anticipated Hades Arc OVA in 2003. However, since its introduction, the Myth Cloth line-up has expanded to cover almost all the characters in the Saint Seiya universe, gaining positive reviews from old and new collectors. There are lines from the years 2003 to 2014 and some specials such as 5 saints in one set, a 24K gold version of Seiya, and the much appreciated pack of Shaina and Cassios.

In 2007, Bandai first announced the project Saint Seiya Myth Cloth Appendix (聖闘士聖衣神話 Appendix). You can find the complete list of Appendix figures here. These figures (as well as the original Myth Cloth) are sought after by fans and collectors alike, allowing them to bring the iconic characters of Saint Seiya to life and showcase their passion for the series.

What Makes the Myth Cloth Line Special?

The Myth Cloth line is a very large collection of action figures based on the anime series “Saint Seiya”. These toys, initially released in 2003, combine:

  • A fully articulated character figure, generally around 16–17 cm tall.
  • Removable “Cloth” armor using a mixture of die-cast metal and plastic parts.
  • An included Object-frame or “totem” on which the armor can be assembled into its constellation form.
  • Alternate hands, helmets, hair pieces and—in later releases—faces and character-specific accessories.

This was essentially the play pattern of Bandai’s vintage Saint Cloth Series, rebuilt with better proportions, articulation, sculpting and display value. The Myth Cloth line-up also offers a vast array of armors, representing the different ranks and powers of the Saints. These armors, known as Cloth, are a significant aspect of the Saint Seiya series, and the Myth Cloth figures faithfully recreate them with intricate sculpting, vibrant colors, and metallic finishes.

The Myth Cloth BRONZE Saints

The first figures were the V2—or New/Revived Bronze Cloth—versions of Pegasus Seiya, Dragon Shiryu, Cygnus Hyoga, Andromeda Shun, and Phoenix Ikki. Seiya and Shiryu arrived at the end of 2003, followed by Hyoga, Shun and Ikki in the first three months of 2004. Some catalogues list Seiya as November 2003, while Bandai’s corporate history dates the brand launch to December; this probably reflects announcement, retail-distribution or regional-date differences.

After the five Bronze Saints, Bandai moved quickly into the Gold Saints, as they were of course some of readers and viewers’ favorite characters. The characters for the line-up are: Leo Aiolia (April 2004), Aquarius Camus (June 2004), Virgo Shaka (August 2004), Sagittarius Aiolos (October 2004), and Capricorn Shura (December 2004). You can find these and many more below!

The Myth Cloth line-up features a wide range of characters from the series, including the legendary Saints and their respective armors. These action figures were highly poseable, allowing collectors to recreate dynamic battle scenes and display their favorite characters in various poses.

The Bandai Myth Cloth collection includes a ‘basic’ (but huge!) line-up and campaign and event specials. Below you can find the line-up for the years 2004 to 2009 and where to get each Saint Seiya Myth Cloth figure.
