Description
A Glo Worm “variant” of the vintage Glo Worm line, released in the late 80s and featuring a lit-up head and a human girl.
Glo Worm was a stuffed toy designed by Hasbro’s Playskool and first introduced in 1982. The body contained a battery-powered device that would light up the toy’s vinyl head when squeezed, creating a soft, comforting glow. The original toy was incredibly successful on release, so much so that Hasbro soon after created a new Musical Glo Worm toy, as well as a series of storybooks, night lights, videos, and other merchandise.
Glo worms continued to be popular into the early 1990s. However, in 2005, the product was said to harm children, as the plastic head was softened with phthalates – which are dangerous if swallowed.
