Lightning is a true force of nature—powerful, fast, and always ready to strike into action. His orange body and yellow mane streaked with white makes him look like a bolt of energy, and his symbol, a white cloud with a yellow lightning bolt, captures his electric personality perfectly. This Big Brother pony thrives on excitement and competition, always eager to push himself to the limit. Whether he’s racing across Ponyland or testing his strength in a friendly challenge, Lightning never backs down from an opportunity to prove himself. He has an electric presence that draws others in, making him the life of any adventure.
Though he’s fast and full of energy, Lightning is also incredibly determined and never leaves a task unfinished. He believes in working hard and giving everything his best effort, making him a natural leader when things get tough. He has a sharp wit and loves a good joke, keeping his friends entertained even in the middle of a storm. When he’s not zooming through Ponyland, he enjoys watching thunderstorms, feeling inspired by their power and unpredictability. Whether he’s charging into action or just enjoying the energy of the world around him, Lightning is a pony who keeps life exciting.
My Little Pony, launched by Hasbro in 1983, was a beloved toy line featuring colorful ponies with brushable manes and unique symbols, or “cutie marks,” on their flanks. Each pony had its own name and personality, from unicorns to earth ponies and pegasus ponies, inviting kids to immerse themselves in a magical world of friendship and adventure. The toy line was accompanied by animated specials, a TV series, and movies, making My Little Pony a cherished part of 80s and 90s childhoods and a timeless classic for collectors and fans.
The world of My Little Pony is… huge. We’re talking thirteen years of collections featuring all sorts of figures and toys! So, I’ve been working on creating smaller guides to help you navigate this wonderful pastel-colored world. Below, you will find (some!) pages with ponies sorted by year, collection (such as Birthflower ponies, Spanish Piggies, etc), country, and much more. I hope they help!
With 400 pages of G1 ponies, The Unofficial My Little Pony Companion is a deep dive into the world of My Little Pony and the people who created the line.
The book includes custom-made images of thousands of pony variants, graphics, beautiful illustrations, and, for the first time, a comprehensive list of ALL Nirvana (foreign) ponies shown and described in detail—as well as previously unknown details about how ponies were manufactured and distributed all around the world. Restoring My Little Pony is the result of almost three years of restoring and customizing My Little Pony toys for my channel RetroGeek Crafts. The book contains 86 pages full of detailed step-by-step guides, project features, material and technique comparisons, and much more. The book is mostly focused on My Little Pony Generation 1 (MLP G1). However, these techniques can be applied to all other generations, including MLP G2, G3, G4, and even G5.
