Description

Minty is a green Earth pony from the original 1983 My Little Pony lineup, known as one of the six “Collector Ponies” of Year One. She features a green body, silvery white mane and tail, blue eyes, and a symbol of dark green clovers on her flank. Minty is characterized by her love for mint, often depicted enjoying the scent and taste of mint leaves. She was reissued for My Little Pony’s 35th Anniversary by Basic Fun, maintaining her classic design with modern updates.

Internationally, Minty has several variations that are highly sought after by collectors. For instance, the Argentinian Minty, produced by the company Top Toys, comes in different variants with unique color schemes. The Brazilian Minty, released in 1983, had two versions, both featuring a green body with flat feet, light blue eyes, white mane, and tail, and eleven clovers as a symbol. Additionally, the Italian Minty has multiple variants, each with distinct characteristics, such as different body and hair colors, and variations in the clover symbols.

Minty has never had any animated appearances, nor was she in the UK comic books. She does have an entry in the UK fact file, where her body is incorrectly colored purple.

More Vintage My Little Pony

My Little Pony, launched by Hasbro in 1983, was a beloved toy line featuring colorful ponies with brushable manes and unique symbols, or “cutie marks,” on their flanks. Each pony had its own name and personality, from unicorns to earth ponies and pegasus ponies, inviting kids to immerse themselves in a magical world of friendship and adventure. The toy line was accompanied by animated specials, a TV series, and movies, making My Little Pony a cherished part of 80s and 90s childhoods and a timeless classic for collectors and fans.
