Description

Blossom is a G1 My Little Pony originally released in 1983, although her hoof says 1982. She came as a Flat Foot Pony – all the flat foot ponies are smaller in size then the rest of the collectors pose ponies. The pose is Collectors Pose, with a lavender body, purple hair, purple eyes and eleven white flowers as the symbol/cutie mark. Blossom came with a white original comb and a white ribbon.

Blossom is a lavender Earth pony from the original 1982 My Little Pony toy line, known as one of the six “Collector Ponies.” She features purple hair and a symbol of white flowers on her flank. Blossom is characterized as a dedicated gardener, often busy tending to her garden, and is generous and polite. She sometimes has to chase Cotton Candy out of her garden and enjoys napping under the rainbow.

Over the years, Blossom has been released in various international variants, each with unique color schemes and symbols. For example, the Spanish Blossom, produced by MB, has a pink body and blue hair, with two types of symbols: the cherry blossom and the regular blossom. Blossom’s enduring appeal among collectors and fans is due to her charming design and her role as one of the original ponies that launched the My Little Pony franchise.

UK Factfile story:

Blossom keeps busy digging in her beautiful garden – as well as chasing Cotton Candy out of it! The ponies say that all the colours of the rainbow are reflected in her lovely flowers.

My Little Pony G1 Essentials

If you want to learn more about ponies and how to restore them, here are two resources that can help. The first is the unofficial MLP G1 guide (which has photos, prices, etc). The second is my own book, Restoring My Little Pony!

Restoring My Little Pony is the result of almost three years of restoring and customizing My Little Pony toys for my channel RetroGeek Crafts. The book contains 86 pages full of detailed step-by-step guides, project features, material and technique comparisons, and much more. The book is mostly focused on My Little Pony Generation 1 (MLP G1). However, these techniques can be applied to all other generations, including MLP G2, G3, G4, and even G5.

This unofficial MLP guide to the first generation of My Little Pony (known as G1) was created by Summer Hayes. The book provides everything a collector needs to identify G1 ponies and their accessories, and understand their value. The guide contains large, full color photos of every pony, playset and accessory released in the US (and in some cases in other countries) in the 1980s and 1990s.
