Description

Cotton Candy is a pink Earth pony from the first generation (G1) of My Little Pony, released in 1982 as one of the original six “Collector Ponies” from Year 1. She features a light pink body, dark pink hair, and a symbol of white spots resembling an Appaloosa horse pattern. Cotton Candy is notable for being the only one of the original six ponies to appear in the first My Little Pony Special, where she was voiced by Laura Dean. She also played a significant role in the UK My Little Pony comics, often depicted with a fondness for eating flowers, which frequently led her into trouble.

Over the years, Cotton Candy was released in various versions, including flat-footed and concave-footed models, and was also available through mail order. She was reissued for My Little Pony’s 35th Anniversary by Basic Fun, maintaining her classic design with a few modern updates.

UK Factfile story:

Cotton Candy loves sweet things; sweet nectar from the flowers, sweet honey from the bees, sweet grass from the valley. However, she is also a bit lazy and tries to find her treats a little too close to home. Blossom’s flower garden is always a tempting place to grab a snack.

More Vintage My Little Pony

My Little Pony, launched by Hasbro in 1983, was a beloved toy line featuring colorful ponies with brushable manes and unique symbols, or “cutie marks,” on their flanks. Each pony had its own name and personality, from unicorns to earth ponies and pegasus ponies, inviting kids to immerse themselves in a magical world of friendship and adventure. The toy line was accompanied by animated specials, a TV series, and movies, making My Little Pony a cherished part of 80s and 90s childhoods and a timeless classic for collectors and fans.
