Description
Butterscotch is a yellow Earth pony from the original 1982 My Little Pony lineup, known as one of the six “Collector Ponies.” She features a yellow body, orange mane and tail, and a symbol of orange butterflies on her flank. Butterscotch is characterized by her gentle nature and love for butterflies, often depicted in serene, natural settings. She was reissued for My Little Pony’s 25th Anniversary, packaged along with Blue Belle and Cotton Candy, and again for the 35th Anniversary by Basic Fun, maintaining her classic design with modern updates.
Internationally, Butterscotch has several variations that are highly sought after by collectors. For instance, the Spanish Butterscotch, produced by MB, features a slightly different shade of yellow and unique butterfly symbols. The Italian Butterscotch has multiple variants, each with distinct characteristics, such as variations in body and hair colors, and differences in the butterfly symbols. These international versions of Butterscotch are prized among My Little Pony collectors due to their rarity and unique regional features.
Butterscotch is a G1 My Little Pony originally released in 1982. She came as a Flat Foot Pony – all the flat foot ponies are smaller in size then the rest of the collectors pose ponies. The pose is Collectors Pose, with a yellow body, golden-brown hair, golden-brown eyes and seven orange butterflies as the symbol/cutie mark. Butterscotch came with a pink original comb and a pink ribbon.
UK Factfile story:
For as long as anyone can remember Butterscotch has always won Ponyland’s Annual Gymnkhana. She’s fast and nimble, strong and exceptionally athletic – over the hedges and fallen tree trunks, round the toadstools and through the gate to finish.
