On this page you will find the original six My Little Pony collectible ponies (G1, or Generation 1: Cotton Candy, Blue Belle, Blossom, Butterscotch, Snuzzle, and Minty) and where to get them.
The My Little Pony G1 Collector Ponies were the original lineup of ponies released in 1982, which consisted of six Earth ponies that introduced the distinctive style and charm that would define the brand. Each pony featured unique colors, symbols (cutie marks), and personalities that set them apart.
On this page, you will find the original six My Little Pony collectible toys (G1, or Generation 1) and how to get them on Amazon and eBay. I’ve also included the 35th Anniversary Edition ponies, brand new. Want more My Little Pony? Click here!
The six Collector Ponies were released in two styles: flat-footed (early versions with flat bases) and concave-footed (later versions with more stable bases). The flat-footed variants are highly collectible today, although all the Collector Ponies laid the foundation for the My Little Pony phenomenon.
The six original Earth ponies were:
Let’s start with Blossom.
Blossom is a lavender Earth pony that features purple hair and a symbol of white flowers on her flank. Blossom is referred to as a dedicated gardener, often busy tending to her garden, and is generous and polite. She sometimes has to chase Cotton Candy out of her garden and enjoys napping under the rainbow. Blossom does not appear on TV or in the UK comics. However, she is featured in The Cross Weather Witch, A Shock at The Stable Show, and in the first TV commercial for MLP.

Next is Cotton Candy.
Cotton Candy is a pink Earth pony with darker pink hair and a symbol of white spots resembling an Appaloosa pattern. She is known for her love of sweets and is often depicted enjoying treats in various media. Cotton Candy was one of the original six ponies released in 1982 and has been reissued in various anniversary collections.
Cotton Candy is the only one of the original six ponies to appear on TV, with a brief role in the first My Little Pony Special, voiced by Laura Dean. She is also a prominent character in the UK comics, where her love of flowers often gets her into trouble, whether eating fancy dress costumes, raiding Posey’s garden, or nibbling on birthday bouquets.
In Ponyland, Cotton Candy serves as the nurse or herbalist, learning her craft from the Princess of Herbs after Applejack nearly falls victim to a magical apple’s curse. She also appears in several books, including The Magic Nut Tree, The Trolls and the Castle of Darkness, The Cross Weather Witch, and A Shock at the Show Stable.

Snuzzle was part of the original 1982 release and has been included in reissue collections celebrating the franchise’s anniversaries. The US backcard for Snuzzle reads: “My Little Pony is a pretty pony with long, shiny hair. She likes you to comb her hair so it stays silky and soft. You can braid her tail and tie it in a ribbon too!“

Minty has never appeared in animation or the UK comic books. However, she is featured in the UK fact file, where her body is mistakenly colored purple. In the US, Minty appeared in several mail-order brochures that included simple stories of her and the other Collector Ponies meeting other ponies, such as the Birthflower Ponies in one brochure and Satin ‘n Lace in another.

These original Collector Ponies hold a special place in the hearts of My Little Pony fans and collectors, representing the beginning of a beloved franchise. Do you remember owning one of these ponies? I’ve made quite a few restoration videos, feel free to leave a comment if you find yours!
My Little Pony was developed by the American toy company Hasbro. It mainly consists of ponies featuring colorful bodies, manes, and a unique symbol on one or both sides of their flanks. The original line ran from 1982 to 1995 and was accompanied by two animated specials, an animated feature-length film, and two animated television series. The My Little Pony toy line was revived in 2010 with the animated series My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic.
