Description

Applejack is a green Earth Pony with an orange mane and tail, and she is known for her hardworking, honest, and down-to-earth personality. She is also one of the “Original Six” ponies, part of the first generation of characters introduced by Hasbro. Applejack’s cutie mark is three apples, and she is often depicted as a farmer involved in tasks like apple picking.

Applejack made her debut in the first My Little Pony special, also known as Rescue at Midnight Castle or Firefly’s Adventure. In this story, she is one of four ponies captured by Tirek and transformed into dragons to pull his chariot. Thankfully, she was later successfully restored to her original form. She was also featured in the UK’s Seven Songs and a Story picture disc and cassette tape, where she was depicted as a clumsy and somewhat greedy pony. Additionally, Applejack was a prominent character in the UK My Little Pony comics.

The Generation 1 (G1) Applejack pony was produced in various countries, each introducing unique variants distinguished by differences in body color, hair color, eye color, symbols, and poses. For example:

  • US: Orange body, yellow hair, green eyes, seven red apples in Bow Tie Pose.
  • Europe: Same as US but available in Collector’s Pose.
  • Argentina: Peach body, yellow hair, blue eyes, seven red apples in Collector’s Pose.
  • Brazil: Matches US version in Bow Tie Pose.
  • Colombia: Multiple color variants (e.g., blue, white, pink) with red apple symbols in Bow Tie Pose.
  • France: Same as US in Bow Tie Pose.
  • Italy: Orange body with variants in Collector’s, Shy, and Bow Tie Poses.

The accessories were a blue flower comb, a blue ribbon, and a puffy sticker.

More Vintage My Little Pony

My Little Pony, launched by Hasbro in 1983, was a beloved toy line featuring colorful ponies with brushable manes and unique symbols, or “cutie marks,” on their flanks. Each pony had its own name and personality, from unicorns to earth ponies and pegasus ponies, inviting kids to immerse themselves in a magical world of friendship and adventure. The toy line was accompanied by animated specials, a TV series, and movies, making My Little Pony a cherished part of 80s and 90s childhoods and a timeless classic for collectors and fans.
