Description

The European release of Bow Tie, in the G1 Collector Pose, is a noteworthy variant of the classic My Little Pony lineup. This version features the beloved Bow Tie character with a blue body, pink hair, purple eyes, and a symbol of six pink bows. Unlike the more commonly recognized Shy Pose Bow Tie, the Collector Pose version was introduced as part of the 1985 lineup and was available in select European countries, including the United Kingdom. This release fell under the “Groom n’ Style” line, adding a touch of refinement and elegance to the character’s design. The Collector Pose variant was not intended to replace the Shy Pose version but was instead an additional offering, adding variety to the Bow Tie lineup.

One of the intriguing aspects of the European Collector Pose Bow Tie is its packaging. A notable oddity is the “MOC Bow Tie” packaging, which included English and French text. Some versions of the card were significantly altered, omitting the pony’s name entirely and replacing it with a generic My Little Pony story.

  • Pose: Collectors Pose
  • Body Colour: Blue
  • Hair Colour: Pink
  • Eye Colour: Purple
  • Symbol: Six pink bows

The accessories were a purple butterfly brush and a white ribbon.

More Vintage My Little Pony

My Little Pony, launched by Hasbro in 1983, was a beloved toy line featuring colorful ponies with brushable manes and unique symbols, or “cutie marks,” on their flanks. Each pony had its own name and personality, from unicorns to earth ponies and pegasus ponies, inviting kids to immerse themselves in a magical world of friendship and adventure. The toy line was accompanied by animated specials, a TV series, and movies, making My Little Pony a cherished part of 80s and 90s childhoods and a timeless classic for collectors and fans.
