Description

Perla is a Generation 1 Spanish “piggy” pony produced by both Brekar and Milton Bradley (MB). Her name translates to “pearl” in English. The Brekar version resembles the Collector Pose Snuzzle but in a piggy pose, featuring a gray body, pink hair, and heart symbols. Interestingly, MB also released this version under the name “Loly Pop.”

There are several known variants of MB’s Perla, each differing slightly in the style and color of her symbols. One version features dark pink circles, offering a bold and vibrant look. Another variant showcases light pink circles, giving her a softer and more delicate appearance. Lastly, there is a version with pink rings, adding a touch of whimsy and uniqueness to her overall design.

These variations not only highlight the artistic versatility of the Spanish Piggy ponies but also make Perla a favorite among collectors who enjoy exploring the subtle differences in My Little Pony’s global adaptations.

More Vintage My Little Pony

My Little Pony, launched by Hasbro in 1983, was a beloved toy line featuring colorful ponies with brushable manes and unique symbols, or “cutie marks,” on their flanks. Each pony had its own name and personality, from unicorns to earth ponies and pegasus ponies, inviting kids to immerse themselves in a magical world of friendship and adventure. The toy line was accompanied by animated specials, a TV series, and movies, making My Little Pony a cherished part of 80s and 90s childhoods and a timeless classic for collectors and fans.
