Description

Skydancer is a Generation 1 My Little Pony introduced in 1983 as part of the Year Two Rainbow Ponies set. She is a yellow pegasus pony featuring a vibrant rainbow-colored mane and tail, with shades of pink, yellow, green, and blue. Her symbol consists of seven glittery green birds, reflecting her affinity for the sky and flight. In the animated special “Escape from Catrina,” Skydancer is depicted as a graceful ballerina, leading the ponies at the Baby Bonnet School of Dance. Her elegant movements and leadership in dance performances highlight her as a figure of beauty and poise within the My Little Pony universe.

Internationally, Skydancer was released with variations in different countries. In France, she maintained her yellow body but featured a mane and tail with different color combinations, such as pink and white. Greek versions of Skydancer included diverse color schemes, with some ponies having a white body and blue hair, or a pink body with purple hair. These international variants are highly sought after by collectors, showcasing the global appeal and diverse representations of Skydancer.

The accessories were a green comb, a green ribbon, and a puffy sticker.

More Vintage My Little Pony

My Little Pony, launched by Hasbro in 1983, was a beloved toy line featuring colorful ponies with brushable manes and unique symbols, or “cutie marks,” on their flanks. Each pony had its own name and personality, from unicorns to earth ponies and pegasus ponies, inviting kids to immerse themselves in a magical world of friendship and adventure. The toy line was accompanied by animated specials, a TV series, and movies, making My Little Pony a cherished part of 80s and 90s childhoods and a timeless classic for collectors and fans.

Restoring My Little Pony is the result of almost three years of restoring and customizing My Little Pony toys for my channel RetroGeek Crafts. The book contains 86 pages full of detailed step-by-step guides, project features, material and technique comparisons, and much more.
