“Ponies: The Galloping 2” is a special Secret Lair drop for Magic: The Gathering, released as part of the Extra Life 2023 charity campaign. This set is a sequel to 2019’s “Ponies: The Galloping” and features four beloved characters from the My Little Pony franchise: Applejack, Fluttershy, Pinkie Pie, and Rainbow Dash. Each card in this set is illustrated by artists Rudy Siswanto, John Thacker, and Anna Steinbauer, and introduces unique, mechanically distinct abilities themed around their respective characters. For instance, Applejack’s card includes a “Family Gathering” ability, allowing players to place a toy they own onto the battlefield as a 2/2 creature token.

The cards are available in both foil and non-foil editions and are not tournament-legal, making them primarily for casual play and collection. They were available for pre-order from September 18, 2023, through November 6, 2023, exclusively through the Secret Lair website.

Fifty percent of each purchase from this Secret Lair drop is donated to Extra Life, supporting the Seattle Children’s Autism Center. This initiative is part of Wizards of the Coast’s ongoing commitment to charitable causes, with the community having raised nearly $5 million for Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals throughout North America. This collaboration between Magic: The Gathering and My Little Pony exemplifies the creative crossovers and charitable efforts that have become a hallmark of the Secret Lair series.

More Vintage My Little Pony

My Little Pony, launched by Hasbro in 1983, was a beloved toy line featuring colorful ponies with brushable manes and unique symbols, or “cutie marks,” on their flanks. Each pony had its own name and personality, from unicorns to earth ponies and pegasus ponies, inviting kids to immerse themselves in a magical world of friendship and adventure. The toy line was accompanied by animated specials, a TV series, and movies, making My Little Pony a cherished part of 80s and 90s childhoods and a timeless classic for collectors and fans.

(My!) My Little Pony G1 Guides

The world of My Little Pony is… huge. We’re talking thirteen years of collections featuring all sorts of figures and toys! So, I’ve been working on creating smaller guides to help you navigate this wonderful pastel-colored world. Below, you will find (some!) pages with ponies sorted by year, collection (such as Birthflower ponies, Spanish Piggies, etc), country, and much more. I hope they help!

With 400 pages of G1 ponies, The Unofficial My Little Pony Companion is a deep dive into the world of My Little Pony and the people who created the line.

The book includes custom-made images of thousands of pony variants, graphics, beautiful illustrations, and, for the first time, a comprehensive list of ALL Nirvana (foreign) ponies shown and described in detail—as well as previously unknown details about how ponies were manufactured and distributed all around the world. Restoring My Little Pony is the result of almost three years of restoring and customizing My Little Pony toys for my channel RetroGeek Crafts. The book contains 86 pages full of detailed step-by-step guides, project features, material and technique comparisons, and much more. The book is mostly focused on My Little Pony Generation 1 (MLP G1). However, these techniques can be applied to all other generations, including MLP G2, G3, G4, and even G5.
