Description

Made by Mattel, this toy line was a spin-off of the Masters of the Universe series and centrered around She-Ra, the twin sister of He-Man. These toys hit shelves in 1984, perfectly timed with the popularity of the She-Ra animated series, which aired around the same time. Mattel’s goal was to create a strong, heroic character for girls, complete with her own colorful world, allies, and enemies.

Mattel produced nine She-Ra Princess of Power figures in 1984, including seven “good” characters, one “baddie” and an owl figure. Each of them came with a comb and a mini-comic, as well as several clothes. This figure, of Princess Adora as She-Ra Princess of Power included the mini-comic “The Story of She-ra” and the following pieces of clothing and accessories: An iridescent red cape, a head crown, a white net skirt, a pink comb, a gold shield and sword, and in the promotional version a free child-sized necklace.

Her doll also featured articulated joints, allowing for various action poses, and included her iconic sword.

This She-Ra doll included:

  • Iridescent red cape
  • White mesh skirt
  • Crowned headpiece
  • Gold shield
  • Gold sword
  • Pink comb
